Ty Menyn is a wonderful, semi-detached stone barn, once the buttery dating back to 1866. Beautifully converted yet retaining plenty of original features and charm set right in the heart of the village of Mathry only 2 miles from the coast, with sweeping views over the village and the rolling countryside to the heart of Pembrokeshire from the front of the cottage.

Comfortably furnished throughout to a high standard, step into the split-level open plan living space, the spacious farmhouse style kitchen/diner is a delight with slate floor, beams and oak work tops, it is well-equipped for preparing family meals. Steps lead down to the sitting room with a wood burning stove making a cosy feel even on the chilliest of evenings. The utility room leads out to a small, enclosed terrace which catches the evening sun. Stairs take you to the well-appointed bedrooms above nestling in the eaves with exposed A-frame beams and crisp white Egyptian cotton linen. The master ensuite bedroom opens to the original stone steps on the outside of the barn.

Conveniently situated, there is a popular pub serving good food and a cafe only a few minutes walk away in the village, you will appreciate just how close the sea is when you spot the amazing view over the coast from the top of the village. A 2 mile walk down pretty country lanes will take you to the picturesque fishing village of Abercastle with its sand and shingle beach or a little further on take in the beaches of Abermawr and Aberbach.

A bike is the perfect way to explore this part of north west Pembrokeshire with its hidden hamlets and picturesque villages; Tregwynt Woollen Mill is well worth a visit or what better way to really appreciate this stunning coastline than to walk the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to Trefin, Aberfelin Beach, Porthgain and Abereiddy. The harbour town of Fishguard is just a short drive away, while to the west lies the tiny city of St Davids with is majestic Cathedral and Bishops Palace, as well as excellent shops, pubs, restaurants and galleries to try.

This delightful cottage is the perfect base to explore from and one you will never tire of returning to at the end of the day.
